Mt Adams Loop collects no personal data, and has no way to send any. The app contains no networking code — no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no accounts, no servers of ours for anything to reach.
Location
The app uses your location to show where you are on the route, to work out distance and climb remaining, and to announce landmarks, water and your own meeting points as you reach them. On the phone this continues with the app in the background, so it can speak while the phone is in your pack.
Your location is used on the device and stays on the device. It is never uploaded, and there is nowhere for it to be uploaded to.
Apple Health, on the watch
The watch app starts a workout session so that location keeps updating with your wrist down, and writes the hike to Apple Health as a workout with an attached route. That data goes into your Health store on your device, under Apple's control, not ours.
If you have separately connected Apple Health to another service — Strava, for example — then that service may receive workouts according to the permissions you granted it in the Health app. That connection is yours, and it is governed by Apple's terms and that service's privacy policy. Mt Adams Loop is not involved in it and cannot see it.
What is stored on your device
- Meeting points you create — the name, note and coordinates.
- The recorded track of your hike, so it survives the app being closed.
- Which announcements have already played, so a restart doesn't repeat them.
- The trip timer on the watch.
All of it lives inside the app's own container. Deleting the app deletes all of it. Nothing is backed up to any service of ours, because there isn't one.
When you share a track
Tapping the share button writes a GPX file and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is entirely your choice, and once it leaves the app it is subject to whatever you sent it to. Nothing is shared unless you tap that button.
Third parties
There are none. No analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, no tracking of any kind, and no third-party code in the app. The map tiles and route data are compiled into the app before it ships, so nothing is fetched while you use it.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13. Since it collects nothing from anybody, it collects nothing from them either.
Your rights
Laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold none — there is no account, no server, and no record of you anywhere. Deleting the app removes everything the app ever stored. If you would like this confirmed in writing, ask.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
